Behind the lens.

Sarah Zimmer, creator of Almond Tree Photography.

“Hello dear friends. Sarah here, native Michigander, current Hoosier. I am an ER nurse, but this platform is my creative outlet. My escape and favorite past time. I stepped into the photography world in 2018 with the simple goal of taking better pictures on our travels. It led to photographing landscapes, to the people in the landscapes, to it being all about people. My passion is people. I create an experience, not just a product.”

Behind the name.

“Almond Tree Photography bears its name from a deeper meaning I do not want lost on my clients. It stems from a foundation of faith, rooted in Jesus. The almond tree, found mainly in Mediterranean climates, is the first tree to bud and flower every Spring. They symbolize hope and resurrection after a Winter season.

The word “almond” comes from the root meaning to “watch” or “wake.” In the Bible, there was a prophet named Jeremiah who was used by God to speak to His people. God gave him the vision of an almond branch early in his ministry, symbolizing that God was “awakening” him to an important season, and always watching over His people.

I love this picture of hope and awakening, of the Lord watching over us and ushering us into new seasons and promises. I want to capture your moments of hope and the season of life you are in!”
